Skyrim Skill Tree

What the skill label does¶

Skyrim Skill Tree edits place a skill name and a high number beside a real-world event. Speech 100 is the persuasion version: someone talks their way into an unlikely result, and the caption pretends that success came from an exceptional role-playing-game statistic. The visual vocabulary comes from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The label is a reaction to the scene. It need not accurately reproduce a gameplay mechanic, and it is not a claim that a character’s Speech score guarantees every possible dialogue outcome.

The documented 2017 example¶

Know Your Meme identifies a June 18, 2017 r/dankmemes post by Autistic_Spinning as an early example. It paired a story about an escaped prisoner persuading a police officer that he was jogging with a Speech 100 label. The surviving Reddit thread is linked as the underlying artifact; its comments are not independent verification of the news story.

The archive also records other skill variations and contemporary coverage during the following days. This establishes a documented 2017 circulation point, rather than proving that nobody had previously made a similar edit. Earlier versions of Memefile split Speech 100 into a separate entry with a later date; the two are now covered together here.

Choosing a skill for the joke¶

These are original illustrative captions, not claims about historical posts:

Situation	Caption	Why the pairing works
You convince the group that the scenic detour was the plan all along.	Speech 100	A verbal explanation changes how a mistake is received.
A cardboard plant passes for a real one on a video call.	Illusion 100	An appearance conceals the ordinary object underneath.
You retrieve your charger without waking the cat on your lap.	Sneak 100	The tiny success depends on going unnoticed.
Your attempt to fold a fitted sheet clears the whole laundry basket.	Destruction 100	A domestic task receives an exaggeratedly dramatic label.

The strongest match names the specific ability involved. If every scenario receives the same generic score, the skill label stops adding information.

Make an original version¶

Start with a short description or a photo you own. Put the setup first and the skill label second, so readers encounter the event before the comic assessment. A plain text label can explain the format without copying a game screenshot.

In the meme generator, use a blank canvas, add your image, and reserve a contrasting strip for the skill text. Test the result at phone size: the scene must remain recognizable and the label must remain readable. For a deliberate reversal, an impressively bad attempt can receive a low score instead.

This format differs from Fus Ro Dah, which borrows a shouted action, and Arrow to the Knee, which borrows dialogue. Here, the reusable element is the game’s way of presenting an ability. The archive image is an example for identification; it does not carry a blanket permission to reuse its artwork commercially.
