Origin

Badger Badger Badger is a looping Flash animation created around 2003 by the British animator known as Weebl (Jonti Picking), hosted on his site and on Albino Blacksheep. It shows a row of simple cartoon badgers repetitively lifting their arms while a chant of ‘badger badger badger’ repeats, interrupted periodically by ‘mushroom, mushroom’ and a startled ‘a snake, a snake.’ The hypnotic, nonsensical loop was designed to be maddeningly catchy. It became a staple of the Flash-cartoon era.

The animation is a pure example of early web absurdism, valued for being catchy, repetitive, and meaningless in a way that lodges in your memory. It is often invoked as a nostalgic touchstone for the Flash-animation golden age of the early 2000s. The chant is sometimes quoted to describe anything mind-numbingly repetitive.
