Origin

Kazoo Kid comes from an old children’s instructional video, reportedly from the late 1980s or early 1990s, in which a boy excitedly discovers a kazoo. The clip is drawn from a longer educational tape that walked young viewers through the toy instrument in an earnest, low-budget style. In 2016 a “trippy remix” of the footage went viral, chopping and looping his cheerful lines into a hypnotic, beat-driven musical edit. The remix leaned into the boy’s exaggerated enthusiasm and the tape’s dated production, which together made every line irresistibly quotable.
