Shoop Da Whoop is a simplified face with a huge open mouth, drawn as if charging and firing an energy beam, captioned ‘Imma firin mah lazer.’ It reportedly derived from an edited comic panel and spread on 4chan around 2007. The exploitable face was Photoshopped onto characters, photos, and scenes to make them appear to unleash a giant blast. Its crude, cartoonish energy made it a favorite image-board template.

Meaning & usage

The image is used for absurd, exaggerated comedy, depicting anything or anyone ‘firing a lazer’ at a target. It became a versatile exploitable, layered onto memes, screenshots, and reaction images.
