Kowalski is the tall, brainy penguin from DreamWorks’ Madagascar films and the spin-off series The Penguins of Madagascar. The team’s leader, Skipper, repeatedly turns to him with lines like ‘Kowalski, analysis,’ prompting the strategist to report his findings, often reading from a clipboard. Those catchphrases became the meme’s foundation, spreading online around 2015.
